We know. Welcoming you back for another AWESOME school year means that summer is over. It’s a bummer. But you gotta move forward to get somewhere, right?
We want this to be the best year ever, so wanted to call your attention to some things:
- We will be doing a sports multi-cam event again this fall, and will need play-by-play, analysts, sideline reporters, production, crew, you name it. We did this in 2014, with the MSU Dodgeball team’s big tournament, and it was a fantastic experience and a huge way to gain real world goodness for your portfolio. Email joanneg@msu.edu or halet@msu.edu if you are interested.
- Sports Study Abroad – Paris and Rome 2016 is on! Professors Gerstner and Dickerson will be taking a group of students to Paris and Rome (May 30-June 27) to study sporting culture and sports journalism in those two influential cities. Consider coming along. It will be a 6-credit class. Email joanneg@msu.edu to get on the email list for more info.
- Spartan Sports Journalism Classic is back! It will be on Oct. 23, and will bring former MSU/NBA great Steve Smith, and a ton of MSU sports media alumni back to class to network with students and discuss the business. You will want to be a part of this. Email dicker22@msu.edu for more info.
